Jay1-001The national education magazine “Center for Digital Education” (CDE) has honored Metro Schools Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Jay Steele, by listing him as one of the nation’s Top 30 Technologists, Transformers and Trailblazers for 2014.

Dr. Steele was honored his work to increase effective use of technology through a new technology plan. The national model learning technology plan he helped develop means all students get experience in online learning environments and all teachers are given the skills and equipment to boost student achievement with technology.

Steele’s accomplishments in education and technology are a result of his approach to the learning environment. He believes the classroom environment should reflect the way students want to learn. Taking the student-centered approach instead of the teacher-centered approach allows students to thrive, which is what is causing great success at Metro Nashville Public Schools.

Congratulations to Dr. Steele on this prestigious honor!
